brita recycling binFor those who use jug filters for their drinking water but have the ‘is it ethical, sustainable and green to throw away all those cartridges?’ demons tormenting you, there is some good news! Brita ones are fully recyclable. All parts of the filter cartridges can be completely reprocessed and the materials can be recycled.
Either take them instore (contact BRITA customer care on 0844 742 4800 to find your nearest store) or send them off to this Free post address:

Natural Collection (http://www.naturalcollection.com) are offering an even more eco friendly option. They sell “Aqua Select” refillable cartridges, which means 90% less waste. You refill the cartridge with fresh granules from a refill bag, which you can buy in sets of four. The Aqua Select cartridges will fit into some other makes of jug filters too

This is great news for those in Europe, but in North America, Brita is owned by The Clorox Company, which has not provided any way to recycle the cartridges. If any North Americans are reading this post, please visit our campaign at :
