I wanted to share the easiest and most gorgeous facial cleanser recipe with you today. Well actually it’s a cleanser, gentle exfoliator and moisturiser rolled into one.
The best thing about it is, that the left overs can be eaten for breakfast - in the bath; take a spoon with you. And there is no packaging to dispose of!

Instead of soap, which can be drying to the skin (and then needs to be followed by toner to remove all traces of soap and then moisturiser to put back the oils you have just stripped out) I use a mix of yogurt and oats.

Just mix a small handful of porrage oats (I guess oatmeal would work too if you wanted a slightly more exfoliating mix) with some yogurt until you get a pas

te and apply to the skin. It’s messy, so apply it in the bath or shower. You can leave it on your face for a few minutes after rubbing it in gently if you like and use it as a face mask.

Rinse it away with plenty of warm water and pat your face dry. There is no need to apply a moisturiser as this mixture will feed your skin as it works. It cleanses without drying, irritating or stripping your skin of vital moisture.

Oats have been used for centuries on the skin. They are very soothing, relieving irritation, inflammation and itching especially on dry skin. Oats make an excellent skin cleaner with a balanced pH for sensitive skins or when skin conditions like eczema make it impossible to use manufactured creams and soaps.

Most people know about the legend of Cleopatra taking her milk baths. Yogurt, which is simply milk with added beneficial bacteria is soothing, cooling and hydrating when applied to the skin. It can be used on all skin types and makes an excellent base for face and body masks, especially for inflamed or irritated skin.
