Review of networking using RSSHugger

I’m into networking at the moment. I *never* thought I would find myself writing that! But I’m finding the buzz of connecting with like-minded souls exhilarating. It’s hard not to feel like you live on an island sometimes, surrounded by others who do not share your values or lifestyle.

If you stop and think about the bigger picture, I find my feelings drifting towards us all being parts of a huge jigsaw called life (more on that another day). I find that to be true for me and it gives me some sense of faith and renewal, yet it doesn’t help that yearning to find a tribe or community. I’m finding that modern life is providing my ‘tribe’ through the internet rather than over my garden gate. It’s a sign of the times and I try to keep my gratitude in check with my longing for a ‘real life’ community.

However, there are some people out there in the www providing some great services and

who have amazing vision. Take Colin LaHay for example. An entrepreneur, who, at the age of eighteen created the cutely-named rssHugger. He claims that he already has more experience than most adults when it comes to internet marketing. I believe him - I haven’t got a clue what he isĀ  talking about most of the time!

He is using the money he has made from selling sites over the past 15 months to fund his college education. What an inspiration to many of us.

He designed RSSHugger to help bloggers promote their blogs and to link together bloggers writing about similar subjects. For the princely sum of zero pounds, you can be listed on RSShugger for ten years. All Colin asks in return is that you write an honest review of RSSHugger on your site.

It’s a little too early for me to make an honest appraisal, but I am trying it out with an open mind and open heart. I’ve found Blogrush to be particularly helpful, so I’m hopeful that RSSHugger will deliver the goods too.

Sure, so listed in the top 100 blogs on the site are hotgirls4u LOL! and lots of ‘make a million bucks in ten simple steps by installing these programmes, ads and widgets’ sites. But if some of us ‘greenies’ and environmental bloggers can find one another through Colin’s Brainchild, then that’s a good thing!

Maybe I’ll see you listed on there too. Let me know how you get on, or what methods you have found most successful for getting traffic to your site :)

Whilst the world population is increasing in size, many people including me can get experience the feeling of isolation and wondering why like minded souls are not nearby.

I have found social networking sites (such as Facebook) and also green blogs great for meeting like minded souls, however I still feel that I need a real life face to face tibe at times.

I do meet with friends regular for craft sessions and there is something very primitive and tribe like with that in terms of the great satisfaction it gives me.

I personally would love to in the future to create a commune / community containing my family / friends and like minded souls. I think my fiance wouldn mind our families but I would have to do a lot of persuading to get him to have others too!

With regards to rSSHugger, I will check it out and get the more tech savy contrbutors at GGG to look at it too.

      Hi Anna-Lisa,

      (((HUGS)))

I hear you! And I think more people are looking for this elusive tribe to belong to. I wonder if our years of the nuclear family are finally catching up with us and we are realising that independence is not all it is cracked up to be.

money can’t buy happiness and love and all that………

What green blogs do you find particularly helpful - any gems I should know about?!

I have a MySpace and a facebook page, but I get confused with all the plugins and applications on there, plus, everyday I seem to get Britney spears thrown at me by people I don’t really know LOL!

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Thanks for popping in and leaving your thoughts here - it’s always good to hear from you.
