hemp, bamboo and soybean clothing

Just a quick post from me today. The weather is dragging me from my computer at the moment - yipee! Yesterday we were out and about all day - visiting neighbours, doing a little gardening, taking photos and generally enjoying the most perfect of spring days. Last night I had that glorious glow on my face from a combination of wind and sun.
Last night, I was pointed in the direction of a website that I want to share with you. It’s called Brain Tree Hemp and stocks a small range of women’s and men’s clothes. Items are made mainly from hemp, but there are bamboo and soybean options too!
Growing between three to 16 inches a day, bamboo is sustainable and renewable. It is the strongest and fastest growing plant on earth and doesn’t need any pesticides. To top it all, it is naturally anti bacterial, making it the perfect fabric for clothes.
In a smiliar vein, hemp doesn’t require huge amounts of pesticides or herbicides. It’s also incredibly strong and durable. It replenishes soil with nutrients and nitrogen, controls erosion of the topsoil, and produces lots of lovely oxygen for us.
I confess to knowing nothing about soybean fabrics, but I will take a look into this next week and see what I can find out.
I have my eye on a cute tunic dress and empire line t-shirt. To my delight, there is a sale on at the moment with generous discounts.
If you’ve never tried hemp before, you could play safe with their best selling product - hemp socks, which will set you back just #4 a pair.
Have you worn hemp, bamboo or soybean? How did you get on with the washing and wearing of these fabrics?

That dress is adorable.
My favorite shirt is bamboo. It’s so soft and wears well. It doesn’t stretch out with washing (and I haven’t noticed shrinking either). And it even controls odor.
It makes me wonder why cotton is still so popular. Bamboo is so much better.
Hi Allie,
Good to see you and thanks for sharing your experience of bamboo. Oh well then, it looks like I’ll just have to treat myself to that dress
Love your site - I’m going to add a link to you in a moment.
Thanks for dropping by,
