I agree, all the charts and prodding about are only there to instill fear - the medical profession (I have nothing against the medical profession per se) are taught to look for problems; that is their job, so they have to try and find something - well that's my feeling anyway!</description>

This esp. resonated with me: "Right from the moment the first dot appears on that graph we have labelled our child as above average, below average or normal and we then place an expectation onto that child to follow this trend, questioning and judging and projecting our fears if they don’t. Such a burden for a young soul who as yet has no knowledge or understanding . . ."
It's one of the reasons we don't take our children to the normal "well baby visits" - I don't particularly care what percentage he falls on (of course, we also aren't vax'ing him right now). It just serves to make me worry or wonder.</description>
