wildlife-action-for-schoolsRSPB recognise that there are many home educators across the Uk and have set up an area for home educators to take part in their Wildlife Action Awards for schools.

This award scheme is all about finding out about and helping wildlife, doing practical things to help and telling other people.

It is suitable for schools, home schools, families and any group of people such as brownies or other groups.

Helping wildlife

This award scheme is all about finding out about and helping wildlife, doing practical things to help and telling other people.

There are three awards, bronze, silver and gold and the activities you can do to achieve them are divided up into four sections:

Finding out what’s there
Helping wildlife
Being environmentally friendly
Spread the word.

Earning awards

You get points for each activity you do and is set up as follows:

To get your bronze award, you need to complete six activities, including at least one from each section.

For a silver award, you need to do another six (making a total of 12), including at least two from each section.

For a gold award, you need to do another six activities (making a total of 18), with at least three from each section.

All the materials you need can be downloaded free from the site.
