@Wilson Pon: Hi Wilson, yes! We use olive oil and lemon juice on wood; sometimes jojoba oil as I prefer to use that; it works beautifully.

@Simon Crabb: Hi Simon, good to see you; please do try the Ecover. I tried them both on my oven shelves (which were black); I found there was little difference - the Cillit Bang had slightly the edge over the Ecover, but not enough to warrant me using it, if that makes sense.

You know I was horribly embarrassed saying 'Ecover' because I'm not actually sure of the correct way to pronounce it!

Thanks for posting this. I want something to clean a portable BBQ with, and I thought I was going to have to get some Cillit Bang. I'll get some Ecover Power Degreaser now instead.

Also, your pronunciation of Ecover is different to mine! I say "Eco-ver" and you say "E-coover". Tomatoes? Tomatoes? :-D

Well, it's almost the same stuffs that we're using here, Mrs. Green. By the way, have you tried out the "Furniture Polish Cleaner" before? It's a mixture of: 1 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup lemon juice. It can be used to rub on any types of furniture, including the woods and leathers!

Hello Wilson, I'm with you on this - I use homemade cleaners too. What do you prefer to use? I like bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar. But for some really tough jobs, you need a product and the Ecover came up really well :)

Mrs. Green, for the cleansing stuffs, I usually use my own organic homemade cleanser, as it's more natural and harmless to our health!
