Rechargeable NiMH AA batteries with USB

Submitted by Mrs Green on Sunday, 23 March 2008 Loading Add to favourites  4 Comments

rechargeable NiMH AA batteries with USBI have to admit it; despite all my sustainable efforts and rustic lifestyle, I’m a gadget gal at heart.

So, GREEN gadgets from ethical companies, really get my adrenaline going and I just love this offering from my friends at Natural Collection.

Here at Chez Green, we get through heaps of batteries for cameras (yep plural, disgraceful I know), clocks, little Miss Greens very un eco friendly plastic cd player (hangs head in shame) and an mP player (we SHALL have music wherever we go).

Although we religiously use rechargeables, I’ve always thought it a bit strange that I have to take power from the mains to charge up our batteries!

AA batteries recharging in the USB port of a laptop

So imagine my happy dance when I discovered this Pack of Two Ingenious Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries that have a hidden USB socket inside the lid!

Yes, dear readers, as you fritter your life away on the net, write emails, or browse Birkenstocks on eBay you can be charging up your batteries. My trusty laptop only uses 15p a week to run, so this would be an economical way for me to charge up those lovely AA cells and save a little juice from the mains.

Winner of the UK National Energy Efficiency Award for Consumer Product 2007, these get the thumbs up from me.

Have you tried them? Do they deliver the promises they make?

Hey Mrs G, nice post and thanks for the nod our way :) I myself have 6 of these batteries and have to say I would be loathed to buy regular batteries ever again. Makes it so easy to recharge…
