3 therapies to make you slim!

lose-weight-with-complementary-therapiesI’m sure the number one wish of most women is to be slimmer. Judging by the number of diet ‘gurus’ and diet books out there, many women are striving to lose some weight.

Many women are willing to try anything to squeeze into a size smaller and will try anything that promises an easy ride to their target weight.

Complementary therapies

Although there are no short cuts to quick weight loss, complementary therapies can help. Avoid anything that promises a miraculous cure and does not incorporate healthy eating and exercise.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy won’t bring about direct weight loss like a diet or exercise programme. Neither will it provide a magical cure for overeating. However, it can help some people let go of all the bad habits and false beliefs that prevented them from losing weight in the past.

By bypassing the conscious mind with relaxation techniques, the hypnothperapist aims to get to the root of the problem by planting positive suggestions in the subconscious mind, enabling the client to alter negative behaviour patterns, attitudes and habits.

Acupuncture

Although it’s often associated with relieving pain, acupuncture can treat virtually any complaint; including obesity. Some practitioners say it can be used to help curb the appetite, depress food cravings, rid the body of excess water and stimulate the pituatary gland to burn off excess calories.

Some practitioners believe the needles stimulate acupoints that make the brain produce extra endorphins which may reduce the appetite or the psychological need for food.

NLP

NLP provides the means to make changes in your life by working on the subconsious and can help break negative, destructive behaviour patterns, enabling transformation to take place.

It is a technique that allows you to change the thoughts and behaviours youhave currently surrounding eating and losing weight, focusing on how you make choices and giving you the tools to take greater control of your life and decisions.

It also helps change your relationship with your body and the food you eat.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing three more therapies that might help you lose weight. Tell us what has helped you to shift those unwanted pounds.
