You know me. I’m not usually a fan of “buy one get one free” offers because it usually means food waste.
So why am I actively promoting the collaboration of E.ON and Jewson to Buy 1 Get 3 free?
Its the Easter Bank Holiday weekend coming up and what do you reckon the majority of householders will be doing?Well according to research by OnePoll; these are the top activities:

taking part in family activities

It’s the remaining 12% I’m interested in, because they are turning their hands to a spot of DIY!
As for us, I think we’ll take the weekend off as Mr Green seems to be permanently attending to a list of DIY jobs I have lined up for him.
Already this year he has mended the bedroom roof and made a chicken coop. But never fear – I have plenty more jobs where those came from!
It seems I’m pretty lucky in my Robinson Crusoe find however, as only a small percentage of people trust their partners to take on DIY projects.
Here at Chez Green my hammer wielding superstar has installed a bathroom, a kitchen, a wood burner, built a conservatory and is not shy of rewiring, assembling new furniture or installing new windows!
But only 20% of females and 7% of males would trust their partner to install a kitchen and only a measly 26% of men would trust their partner to assemble furniture. That’s a bit harsh isn’t it! I know flat pack furniture gets a lot of bad press but even I can manage to build a wardrobe or bed.
Some people have some pretty horrendous tales to tell in the DIY department. It’s not just your usual more paint on the floor and in your hair than on your clothes, some pretty serious accidents have taken place such as drilling through gas pipes and hammer guns going through hands rather than walls – ouch! Apart from one time when Mr Green put a wrench through this hand (more on that another time complete with gory pictures if you’re good) his DIY projects have left him unscathed.
One person even put up a plastic storage shed indoors then was unable to get it out of the door so had to dismantle it and rebuild outside!
