Five reasons to use organic beauty products

five reasons to use organic beauty productsLast year, sales of organic beauty products increased by 69% to £27 million. More and more of us are turning to organic health and beauty products, but have you stopped to think why you and the environment might benefit from your organic purchases?

Safe ingredients

If there is any doubt about the safety of an ingredient, it is banned from organic  beauty products. Organic health and beauty products do not contain parabens, phthalates or GM ingredients.

Skin and eye irritation

Organic products do not contain synthetic fragrances which have been found to cause a third of all cosmetic allergies.

Cocktail effect of toxic chemicals

While one conventional product might contain a few synthetic or toxic chemicals, the ‘cocktail effect’ of combining products is not known. Many women use over 20 different products a day, bombarding themselves with an array of toxic chemicals.

Using organic products reduces your risk of the cocktail effect of toxic ingredients.

Better for the environment

Organic farming does not involve the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilisers which can have devastating effects on our water, soil, wildlife and health.

Natural health

When you consider that what you put on your skin ends up in your body, it makes sense to use the purest and safest products such as those found in organic products.

What about you - do you use organic beauty products? If so, why and if not, why not?
