3 Ways to Achieve The Health You Want
Browse main article categories
When it comes to your health, we’ve all learned over the past two years that we need to be taking care of it the best way that you can.
Many people make new year’s resolutions to improve their health, yet only 8% of people stick to them.
The harsh truth is, if you have certain goals that you would like to achieve, then the only person standing in your way is you.
Limiting beliefs and sabotaging behaviours can all get in the way, and in that instance, you might need professional help to support you with a more resilient mindset. But many people can, when they put their mind to it, achieve wonderful things.
Here are three health areas to focus on this year:
A great place to start is your relationship with food. After all, you are what you eat as the saying goes! If you are trying to lose weight for example, you might think that you can’t do it because it means you can’t eat this or you can’t eat that. With a sensible, balanced diet, you don’t need to forgo your favourite foods. You can eat whatever you want, you just need to make smart choices and indulge in moderation. Have the unhealthy food in small amounts and the healthy food most of the time, rather than the other way around.
Check out dietary choices such as keto, vegan or the Mediterranean diet and see which feels optimal for you.
If you’re someone who doesn’t exercise often, you might just think that you are incapable. You’re not. And it’s never too late to start. You can try some different forms of exercise at home such as yoga or Tai Chi. You might like to dust off your bike and go for a ride or just start with gentle walking or swimming. The most important thing is to find something you enjoy and is fun for you.
The same goes for someone who already exercises, but wants to take things to the next level. Don’t push yourself too hard as it’s likely to end up in injury, but if you know that you can go further than the wall in your mind, do it. It’s hard, but your mind is the only thing blocking you when your body is ready to go.
The final thing that we are going to look at is stress. Stress can be a massive problem for health, and it has increased for many over the past couple of years. Find ways to calm down such as going for a walk, doing something you love, or even looking into things like where to buy CBD or certain types of tea.
Other ways to reduce stress include mindfulness, meditation and starting a new hobby such as art of learning to play a musical instrument.
