Using aromatherapy for anti ageing

While I’m happy to grow old disgracefully, I still like to maintain the health of my skin.
With so many products out there promising to turn back the clock, you only have to read the label to discover some of the unpronounceable ingredients you don’t want to put on your skin!
I’m a huge fan of using essential oils on a daily basis.
While essential oils need to be treated with respect, when used carefully they can bring wonderful health properties to both body and mind.
If you’ve committed to cleaning up your skincare routine, here are two pampering recipes you might like to try.
Facial massage oil
Mix together the following and store in a glass bottle:
- 5ml jojoba oil
- 5ml macadamia oil
- 5 ml walnut oil
- 2 drops each of neroli, rose and sandalwood essential oil
- 3 drops of carrot seed oil
Nourishing face mask
Mix the following together. Apply to the face and neck (avoiding your eyes) and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water:
- 2 tbsp unflavoured live full fat yogurt
- 1/2 mashed avocado
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp ground almonds
- 2 drops each benzoin, frankincense and rose essential oil
