A natural deodorant that works!

I’ve been using ‘natural’ products for many years and I’m pretty happy with the products and brands I have found.
However many people who are new to a ‘green’ lifestyle are very unsure when it comes to personal care products.
They don’t want to give up their antiperspirant, their brightly coloured shower gels or their body sprays and go ‘au natrelle’.
Toxic fragrance
In many ways, the scent of their products has become their identity and let’s be honest, those scents can become pretty addictive. The trouble is, most fragrance is derived from petrochemicals and contain solvents and other toxins which have been linked to birth defects and cancer.
No agency regulates the fragrance industry. Methylene chloride, a known carcinogen that also causes autoimmune disease, is listed as one of the 20 most common chemicals found in fragrance products in the 1991 EPA study. Even though the FDA banned the chemical in all cosmetic and fragrance products in 1989 there is no way to police the fragrance industry since it is unregulated and exempt from listing ingredients.
Natural products
When I first started out on my journey into natural products there wasn’t much choice and the items that were out there weren’t very effective.
Thankfully things have come on a long way and there are several companies out there producing wonderful, safe, effective and beautiful products.
MÁDARA
One such company is MÁDARA; the leading natural and organic skincare brand by Latvia.
I’ve been using their new Herbal Deodorant which is ECOCERT certified. ECOCERT is one of the most respected and internationally recognised certification standards for organic and natural beauty products in the world.
Herbal Deodorant
Many deodrants contain harmful ingredients such as parabens or aluminium, which have been linked to serious health risks including breast cancer. The MÁDARA herbal deodorant uses Baltic yarrow and plantain, which are anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. It doesn’t contain alcohol, so doesn’t sting after shaving. It also contains other lovely ingredients such as calendula and rose water and has a delicate scent of sage, peppermint and chamomile. It reminds me of a summer meadow; fresh and light. We’ve had a really hot summer this year and I can safely say that this MÁDARA Herbal Deodorant stands up to the test of high temperatures!
Safe and effective
Whenever I’ve coached people on living a greener life, personal care products are one of their number one concerns. They know the ingredients of many conventional products are bad for them, but they don’t want to give them up and are scared of ending up with body odour.
After trialling this deodorant for a month, I would confidentaly say MÁDARA have created the perfect product for making the switch!
Why not give it a go? You can buy from Selfridges, Harrods or several online stores such as LoveLula.
What about you – which natural deodorants have you found to be effective?
